Fonts are awesome! And they can give your website a magical touch, right? It's still hard to find fonts that are free to use sometimes. Sometimes you also want fonts that you can use for commercial purposes as well. Let's take a look at 8 places where you can get free fonts and how you can use them for commercial purposes as well!

Google Fonts

Google Fonts is my absolute favorite! Why? Because it's open source and gives you over 1400+ font families!

There is also a downside but I guess it's only in Germany. You should host the fonts yourself. You can read how to use fonts in tailwind with Nuxt on my blog. I think most issues come from WordPress. If you want to host your Google Fonts locally on WordPress take a look at the OMGF Plugin, this could fix your problem!

There is another reason why Google Fonts is so popular. Besides the fonts, they also have a huge icon collection. So you can get fonts and icons from the same place!

The icon library is good but there are missing some icons for sure. I think at the moment they don't have social media icons for example. So maybe you should take a look at 10 SVG Libraries - FREE (Open Source). There you will find a library that will fit all your needs!

Font Squirrel

Font Squirrel is awesome as well! It gives you fonts that are free for commercial and personal use. On top of that, it will find fonts for you that are free from other sites as well.

If you don't find a font that fits your needs on Google Fonts, maybe you should take a look at Font Squirrel!

Font Space

FontSpace also gives you a lot of fonts. You also get fonts that are only free for personal use. For some projects that's enough right?

However, if you want to get fonts that you can use commercially as well FontSpace has a toggle for that. You also find a tab for commercial-use fonts in the top navigation. So finding a font with the right license is easy!

1001 Fonts

1001 Fonts is pretty similar to FontSpace. You also get fonts that are only for personal use but you also get a lot of fonts that you can use commercially.

If you browse through all fonts the green or red dollar tag on the right side of the font gives you quick information. A green dollar tag means that you can use it commercially as well. The red dollar tag means only for personal use.

Of course, you can simply filter the fonts. So you only get fonts that can be used commercially as well.

Dafont

Dafont gives a lot of filters and offers a lot of fonts as well. However I don't like this site as much as the others. It can be hard to find fonts that you can use commercially.

Most fonts are for personal use only. So if you want a font for a commercial project this is not the right place to look at.

Fontsly

Fontsly is similar to Dafont. It can be really hard to find fonts for commercial use. Still, you find a lot of free fonts. If you only need a font for a personal project it's worth taking a look at it!

Fontfabric

Fontfabric offers a lot of fonts. Here you will also find fonts that you have to pay for. That's the last site on my list. It primarily focused on free fonts. If you for some reason don't find a font that fits your needs on one of the sites before, Fontfabric may help you.
